Default Wrong Idle RPM, Low Torque Stall

when i got my 87 SE a year ago it ran great but then i sat it in my back yard for the past nine months while i got money to cover insurance. It starts fine but at 1500 RPM while every book I have read says 1000 is right. Then after a run to the store 2 miles away with no problems it wont make it up a, id say from 2-7% grade into the yard. it stalls. At first i was getting an error code for a MAP Sensor which i never found. so i tuned it up and it was good for a while. i think the injectors are dirty but i have no i dea when to replace them. this is my first fuel injected car so it is all greek. The whole car is dead stock and i think maintenence may be lacking as the first oil change was molasses. keep my 219,414 mile odometer in mind and i have no idea what series my motor is but it looks just like my bosses 92 LE
