Default Car runs too hot..... "UPDATE"

Overheating........

Guys, I touched on this in another post but since its not really on the subject I figured I would start fresh. The car is running hot, after checking my new thermostat I seem that the rubber seal around it was melted, and this is only 2 weeks old. I changed the thermostat again, this time putting 2 holes in it as reccomended. The car still runs hot and i don't think its all air because I have purged it about 10 times now and kept the coolant to the proper level. Could this be a bad water pump? I just flushed the system 2 weeks ago and in the begining it seemed to be fine.......

Also, the temps. here are in the 60'*, and the gauge will climb well past the 200 range. It seems that it will stay steady just abouve or below 200 for a while and then seems to climb fast........

Your car is indeed running to hot.
When the car is at his normal temp, say 200, is the upper rad hose pressurised? Can you squeeze it shut with your hand?
How about the front of the rad? are all the fins plugged off or bent?
Cooling fans kicking in?
Can you wiggle the pulley on the water pump in and out at all?
To me it sounds like something is restricting proper coolant flow throughout your engines cooling system..this needs more diagnosis

I agree with Matt on this one. Try the diagnostic methods he mentions and let us know the results and answer each one of the questions.

Yes but it will hold somewhat steady for a while. Like today on my way into work, it was right around 200, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Then the last mile or so, it started to climb.........

There is nothing blocking the fins on the outside of the radiator......
The fans will kick on when it gets really hot, like in the middle of 200 and the next mark......
I will check and see at lunch about squeezing the hose......
I will also try to wiggle the pulley.....
I agree about something restrcting flow, my quad driver fault code is going off on my car and i think this has something to do with it.....

What are the quad driver soleniods for the one you are having issues with?

You do realize that if you aren't moving and the temps aren't greater than ~215 that you have no fans on a pretty large 6 cylinder creating heat. It'* going to heat up when you aren't moving much.

I was told that one of the symtomes could be the temp sensors, I replaced both and no luck, it was worth a try......

I know what you are saying about not moving...... My fans will go on eventually. I will check the hose as indicated above at lunch, I also squezed the hose just now and I heard a squishy air sound comming from the RAD. cap? Could the cap be bad?

Yes, it could be. A pressure test of ~16lbs would be in order or a new cap.
