...so I need to fix my A/C. Got a brand new blower motor, it works fine, and the a/c works fine with the blower motor hot-wired to the battery, but it'* taken quite a drain, so I removed the wiring. The old blower motor was pulling more than 25 amps, so I figured it blew a fuse somewhere. Well, all the regular fuses are fine, so I figure it'* a relay. Does anyone know which fuse box and which fuse in that fuse box I need to check? Thanks!

Your blower problem could be caused by a faulty ECC module.

Your sig looks like mine when I've put too much in and it tells me it'* too long. Then it puts all that jibberish in tags. Just edit the extra crap out.

Your sig is longer than mine, and I don't get that message. Also, I haven't changed it in almost a year.

There'* nothing wrong with the blower motor now, it'* new. The old one blew a relay I'm pretty sure, I just don't know the locations except for the one right above the passenger side footwell. I know there are a couple more locations. Just don't know where. I'd like to know which is the blower control module relay. The programmer works fine.

Okay, doomsayer, I was hoping that it wasn't the blower control module, I'll check that last. I'd like to check the relay first. I noticed in that thread you have a wiring diagram? Which relay is it?

Maybe it'll help that at first the regular fuse was blown. I replaced that (with a bigger fuse, hrm...), then it worked for a while, then quit again, this thime the fuse wasn't blown, so I figured the next step down the line would be a relay. So I'll check that, then go further down the line.


EDIT: Hmm...I'll try this:
The voltage to the module is supposed to be 8V at high fan speed (grey/black wire). Your HVAC programmer is fine. But when it is at 8V, the output of the module to the purple wire should be at 12V. Check the red wire for 12V+, and the black one for a ground. If the red, black, and grey/black all check out OK (12V+, ground, 8V+, respectively), and the purple is not reading 12V+ (either at the fan or the blower module), then the blower module has to be bad.

Ok, relays, in order left to right:
A/C cut-out
Horn
High blower
Blower off
ABS pump
ABS main
High cooling fan
Low cooling fan

Are those the under hood relays? What about the relay box in the passenger side cab?

Yup, underhood. My FSM doens't mention blower relays anywhere else, but 93 may be different.

Well, Autozone has a blower relay for $11.99. But he said he couldn't find Blower Control Module. Does it go by a different name? GMPartsDirect has a Climate Control Module, part #12368389, list price $137.16, their price $68.57. Could that be it?
