Not a Tranny line....update
Yup....stupid me blew a tranny line
Long story short, I was "testing" out the newly installed PCM and before I know it my car is sputtering along the highway for some unknown reason. I get home, pull the tranny dipstick and its almost bone dry I look around here and there and can not see any leaks anywhere, so I go upstairs, change my clothes and go back down and sure enough theres a puddle of tranny fluid on the passenger side of the car.
Tomorrow, I'm going to drop off the 97 at my brothers shop and take the 94 to work while he pokes around to see where its leaking from.
I may end up with a new radiator and tranny lines by the end of the week $$$ :?

How can we help you diagnose or fix this in the mechanical forum sir?
I believe he probably had a cracked line and happen to notice it while driving. I'm pretty sure that one little burst did it. The noise started happening too quickly afterward.

Oops
please move if needed, I just thought this was the right place to post to get people to chime in and get the questions rolling or share their input.

DONT DRIVE IT ANYMORE!!! -- thats probably the reason i blew my 95'* tranny.. i blew the tranny line on it twice and lost ALL fluid
fill it up with cheap fluid and try your best to find the leak yourself... you should be able to see it easily if you lost that much that fast

I dont think its that fast of a leak. I was on the road about 35 40 minutes from the time I notice it sputtering. There was still SOME tranny fluid left in there, but I need to get it to my brothers shop thats about a 5 minute drive from home. Ive got two gallons of Fluid tagging along and will be stopping to fill it on the way if needed.

Good luck. I hope it is a relatively easy fix. Be careful ( I am sure you will be) on the drive to your Bro'*) You certainly don't need this head ache right now.

Thanks Tallbump. I made it okay and as long as I didnt put the tranny under heavy load, I was fine. All shift points are still there and smooth and I got TCC too so I believe im safe. Chuck will be calling later this afternoon to give me an update as to what he found.
Just for extra measure, im replacing both upper and lower tranny lines and whatever else broke under there.

Glad to hear of your safe arrival. Now lets hope the news isn't too bad.
My tranny is about the only thing on mine that is working.
I guess mine will never be modded then :(

Well unfortunately, this is how im finding out what needs replacement.
I told Boosty that I beleive that the line blew because of the increase in line pressure when I installed the Intense PCM. Im not laying blame, just saying that the line/* were old and couldnt handle it.
By the time im done with this 97, it will practically be a new car. lol
