I have the sweet smell of antifreeze inside my '92 SSE. Does the heater core remove from the engine side or from the front passenger footwell. The FSM didn't seem very clear to me.

It removes from the inside after a considerable effort. Looking for the post.....

Whew! That took a while, but I knew it was in there. RMac changed his heater core without removing the dash. Read this post: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...rking&start=40

You will need to purchase a special flexibe cable tool (if you don't have one) that lets you undo the spring clamps on the heater hoses that attch to the heater core on the engine side of the firewall. They are down in a hole that defies the use of normal pliers.
