Hood Release Light
Hello, I rear-eneded a truck a while ago, and the crumpled hood is still on it. I have to do the two man hood open procedure to get my hood open now. The problem is that the hood release safety light/warning on the dash keeps comming on and that dinging tone is heard off and on while driving the car. I looked for a sensor or switch that activated this alarm, but I found nothing. Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this, (besides getting a new hood). I have a new hood, but still need to get it painted, so there is a fix in the future. Thank you

On most years the hood sensor is on the radiator support, right behind the driverside headlight.
However, if you could please put your year and model information into your signature by going into your profile, that would be super helpful.

Add some thick tape to the underside of the hood to make up any gap. Or simply disconnect the sensor until you're ready for the new hood. The light will go off.

Depending on your year, it'* a pitifully simple looking switch. On my 98, it kinda resembles a 22 LR bullet on the drivers side, right in fromnt of the washer fluid reservoir (if memeory serves). A chunk of duct tape should fix 'er right up until you can get a new hood.

More info
Sorry about the lack of info. I have a 1993 SSE Supercharged Bonny, and I did not see any switch or wires for that matter by the latch area, but I wil check it out when I get home.
