Default 98 SE Stalling

I have been driving my Dads 98 SE since he passed away a couple weeks ago. Car has 88000 miles on it and runs great. However, three times in the last two weeks, it will stall when sitting at a stop light. Starts right back up, but what could this be? Any ideas would be appreciated.

could be alot of things like , dirty or clogged exhaust, egr, could also be a sensor going bad or a coil. or it could be just a badly corroded ground wire or ground buss... have you checked those well one of the more advanced members will chime in when they get time.

I know you didn't mention it but is the check engine light on?

My 99 did the same thing when the coil terminals were crapped up

Check your coolant level. Is it going down over time?

We can all sit here and guess all day long. Let'* stick to the common failures and get some questions answered. Specifics, like checking coolant level, are critical based on our experience.

Weak fuel pumps would be manifested more at WOT than letting off the throttle.

Coolant level fine, had the uim and lim replaced about two thousand miles ago, refilled with universal coolant, no check engine light, car is running fantastic. Just stalls when sitting at a red light. I'm sure it has the original plugs/wires/coils on it, maybe I should start there????

Sure, start with the wires. In addition, while idling, pull the oil fill cap off and tell us if your crankcase sucks or blows out of the front valve cover?

It means your PCV needs replaced, OR (more common), remove the PCV and check the o-rings. Make sure they're seated properly. Given the fact you just had the UIM replaced, I'm willing to bet they weren't reseated properly.

The PCV is on the top of the UIM, passenger side.
