TCC Lockup
There'* been a lot of talk about the TCC and lockup, and reviewing previous threads, I've been thinking about some stuff.
Some agree (as does the car'* manual) if you're going to be city driving, manually select the Drive range. This way, the TCC doesn't have to lockup-unlock all the time.
However, in OD the TCC will lock in 3rd, and 4th gear. Therefore, if you live in a city where there are stretches of 30-40 MPH road, I'm almost certain the TCC would lock in 3rd, enhancing gas mileage. Then you have to ask yourself if saving gas is a priority, or risking TCC failure. I haven't heard of many TCC'* failing (and think of how many times the TCC lock cycles, compared to how many times your gears cycle), so I'll continue using overdrive.
