Default SES Codes

Hey yall. I know I dont post much and I dont really every reply to anyone elses post but Im not much of a mechanic and all I really know is what I read here or I figure out on my own.

I just pulled a couple of codes from the computer:

23 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit ( Low Temperature Indicated )

31 - PRNDL Switch Circuit

What do those two mean and how can I fix them?

Slowly I am fixing up my bonnie when I have money and time right now I got some time and a little money so im gonna change the oil (next week will be about 3 months and Ive put on about 2500 miles so its about time. Its also been about 6 months since Ive changed the tranny filter but the fluid is lookin just as good as it did when it came out of the bottle, so Im gonna wait on that one for another couple of months. My baby is runnin pretty well at the moment so Im just lookin to do some preventative maintinence so keep her that way. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sam

PS The only major problem right now is 4th gear. The tranny shifts up and down well but on 4th gear, after a few minutes of driving, the rpms drop down to just under 2k and the only way to speed up again is to let off the gas then speed up again. Ive been told its the TCC solenoid, but I dont really want to mess with the tranny cause that is WAY beyond my (very limited) experience. Probably during the christmas break (if money allows) Im gonna get the tranny checked out and possibly rebuilt if I can find a good mechanic around here.

Hook up the sensor in the airbox. If it'* hooked up, replace it and/or check the wiring.
31 - PRNDL Switch Circuit
Check the switch. It'* in the center console (if equipped with a console shifter rather than column shift). Make sure it'* hooked up, replace if you like, but it won't cause problems and won't set a code.
