Before installing a Series II L67...
Howdy guys. I'm soon planning on purchasing one from a salvage yard. I haven't decided on my price range yet, but it'll probably have somewhere between 70k and 130k miles. Since I'm going to have the engine out of a car, and thus easy to work on, are there any items that you suggest I replace, like gaskets, sensors, etc, before I install it? I know the engine'* internals last for about ever, but I want to make sure there aren't any little annoying things that will soon go wrong that are gonna be a PITA to fix with it installed.
Thanks guys

I would do atleast the SC gasket and LIM gasket. Once those are off it will give you a half decent idea of how the engine was treated. If the valve cover gaskets look like they have leaked then I would replace those as well.
Ported exhaust manifolds would be sure easy to install if the motor was out of the car.....
