Bonneville Front End Stability
Hey there, my dad is a Snap-On dealer, and he was at a shop one day, when a wrecker came in with a car that looked just like mine, with a broken front end. He asked the mechanis what had broken on the car ( I can't remember exactly what it was) but the mechanic said he sees them come in quite often with the same problem and broken front end near a tire after hitting a pothole or decnt sized bump. Any truth to this about them having a problem?

Probably a sway bar end link.
The bolts are small and girlish to start out...then add 5+ years of rust and corrosion..the bolt becomes super think and if you hit anything good enough it can snap.
Energy suspension endlinks are the preferred replacement here on the club.
Off the top of my head..I could be off
Part numbers are
8120 and 8105...

Probably a tie rod that went bad. It happens. The one on my wifes GP went, they found it when they replaced the Stabilizer bar (not the links) that she broke.

i'm starting to question the stability of my front end as well, but only because i know it needs work. Some front struts are definately in order. I'm also starting to notice that my handling is fading away. Also the alignment isn't consistant: after making a few turns and then attempting to go straight i'll get a strong pull to the right, but after a while this will go away. Its new a new problem, so i'm concerned if other things that would effect the handling and alignment of the car are starting to go as well. {Possibly a sway bar?}

Sounds to me like you have a rack that is going. Does it steer like there is a rubber band between the steering wheel and front wheels instead of a rack and pinion?

aye, good question. I'll have to pay more attention to how the steering feels on my drive home {from work.} As i can recall it seemed fine, but it may be the root of my problems...
...ugh i don't even want to think about what happens when the rack & pinion combo goes
*edit* drove the car home from work and listened and paid attention to things. I don't think its the rack as there wasn't any play in the steering the and responsiveness is still there. I'm still getting a pull to the right though, sometimes stronger than others, so I know I'll need an alignment {especially when the shocks are replaced} and then possibly the wheels balanced & rotated for good measure....oh, and new rotors too...this is gonna be $$$...
