I used STP complete fuel system cleaner, in the gray bottle. You use it every 4,000 miles. After I put it in, I got 40 more miles to the tank! No kidding. That may not be common for everyone, my fuel system was probably just nasty, that'* all.

If you're changing your oil regularly (like every 3000 miles), you don't need it. If you're not changing your oil when you're supposed to, start doing so now, and after a couple of oil changes at the proper times, you still won't need it.

Also what product do you guys recommend i clean fuel system with.
How do you know it'* dirty? I'm serious; most any brand of gas has plenty of detergent additives, especially in the premium grades. If you want to put some STP or something like that in the tank it probably won't do any harm but I don't know if you're going to see any improvement either.

Something wrong with the sending unit in the tank, it sounds like, if the gauge reads normally if the level is higher than 1/4. I can't see how changing your fuel filter would have had anything to do with that; probably just coincidence.

I agree with acg_ssei, if your changing your oil(& filter) regularly at apprx 3000 mile intervals, then you should never have to even think about an engine flush. The only thing they(Pennzoil Shop) do is flush your wallet!!! Howver, with that said, their are a few engine flushing aficionados out there that swear(@#$%) by additives such as Marvel Mystery Oil. And I have heard some good things about MMO. But I would only use them as a last resort.

I use Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner @ approx 5000 mile intervals.

Yeah it sounds like you have a break in your SU in your take.. your SU is a rheostat and sometimes there is a break in the resistor. :?

The chevron techron is the best stuff for cleaning fuel. Nothing else, for the price, can compare.
