Default FNG (New Guy) with a prob

Finaly got an SSEi (third Bonny), both shift console "ride lights" are on, which the owner'* manual tells me is bad news :( . Air compressor just barely runs and is noisey. Any Ideas? OOPS, Pardon me ,(FNG), I'm supposed to describe my ride: 96 SSEi, Siver Taupe, Tan int. All the usual stock stuff except, no SSEi mats, no keyless remote, and no radar detector (yet). At 51, you'd think i could control my Pedus Plumbus, but no, HUD routinely displays triple digits , 2nd childhood me thinks. Any way, Howdy.

All signs point to you need a new pump... could find one at a salvage yard or someone could get you a P#.
Anyways.. Welcome to the club!

Welcome abord.
If memory serves me correct you can pull some codes from those buttons. You'll have to catch Fuddy on that as he'* our electronics guru.
PS. As long as you like the power pick up a cheap cold air intake and enjoy the whine (SC whine that is) .

We're gonna have to wait for Fuddy on the the pulling codes procedure, but basically it flashes the lights x amount of times. The # of flashes is cross referenced to the Factory Service Manual to the corresponding code # and it will describe the code -ie 1420 is an OBDII engine code that I believe indicates a bad reading from an o2 sensor.

As for a cheap cold air intake I've seen some people on here put one together for under $30 so they aren't too expensive unless you want a pretty one that is prefabbed ($150-200).

For the air pump, have you checked for loose connections at the pump or the struts?

Yep, couldn't feel any leaks at the pump, but the pressure is so low (when its running) you couldn't fill up a basket ball in less than a day.

I can fab Alum. pretty well, might go that route, can get a pretty good brushed effect with my angle grinder.

Bear, do you know normal system pressure? Hooked the pump to an air tank, it got to 70#, then it shut off. I put a more accurate pressure guage on the pump, and it quit again when it got to 70#. Are the codes audibles? Get 5 slow dings while its going through self test, then 2+2 rapid dings when the 2nd "ride" lite comes on. It seems to be stuck in performance ride, which is fine by me but Mrs. G doesn't like feeling every stick or soda straw we run over.
THanks again All for the welcome[/quote]

For the electronic ride control:

If it'* a bad strut, kiss this option goodbye. The struts were ****, and are no longer available.

70psi is correct for the pump.

Thanks for the link willwren, didn't find it when i looked.
So my only option ("old stock" not withstanding) is to replace the stuts with something like a Koni adjustable, plug the air lines, and be happy to have a tennis ball inflator under the right rear?

Oh Well, it'* nothing compared to Scottydl'* woes.
