how do i get this dam thermostat out....help!!!

Ok I got my UIM off and I see the Stat and looks like it’s pressed in or something I can’t get it out. How do I get it out? Is it screwed in? I want to replace it with a 180 degree one....I live and drive all day everyday in the hardened hot ass city so will this help?...I just don’t want another UIM\ LIM failure...

Pull off the coolant neck. There should be two bolts on either side. After the the neck is off, the t-stat should be able to be pulled.

yeah i do have the neck off and the 2 screws removed...but the stat seems like it's just stuck in the i think it's the LIM..do i just stick a srewdriver though it and twist it left to right and pul it out or is it screwed in?

Screwdriver, pliers....anything that appears to work w/o damaging the surface on the lim where the gaskets will need to seal. ;)

got you..thanks... :D

BTW..once it is out. Make sure the area is clean and free of old gasket material etc. That should help keep the next one from sticking.

I don't think the gasket is available for the housing.... You'll have to make one...

Sometimes they are tough to find by name. Technically they are listed as a water outlet housing gasket in many systems.

I used a Series 1 gasket and some RTV. Hasn't leaked yet.
