Hello all. I'm hoping for some help on an intermittent problem on a friends '93 Bonneville 3.8L :?: . This problem usually rears its head after warmup; car idles rough, no response when you step on gas, & some stalling. Gas guage also dips. I'm thinking bad Ground on Fuel Pump/Gas Guage. Anyone have location of this Ground or any other ideas on what his problem is? BTW> computor is not setting any codes. Thanks.

Does it just run like dog $&!# after it warms up? Cause it sounds like a bad o2 sensor. Otherwise some fouled plugs possibly.

This is an intermittent thing, that'* why I'm thinking electrical. Computor has set no codes. Anyone out there with that FSM with the Pump Ground location??

Well I would say its the o2 why the hell would the ground matter it it only does it after it warms up or are you saying that because the gas gauge goes up and down... if thats the case then look at your pump you sould be able to see the ground I know I can on my 93 SE

I'm with the you guys. Not electrical. Fouled plugs are a possibility, as is a dirty TB. I know you said the car wasn't throwing a code, but have you had a realtime scan done and looked at all the parameters?

Plugs, wires, O2......even a fuel pump. Remember the TB heats up pretty good after initial warmup. There'* a ton of possibilities here. A full Tuneup would be the best place to start.

Russian Polar Bear, please, if you read my post, this is not my car, but a friends. If you can see Fuel Pump Ground on your car(same as my friends), please describe exactly it'* location. My thinking, since the problem is intermittent, Pump Ground may be loose or have corrosion. Please let me know it'* location so I can check if it'* clean and tight. Thanks! EDIT> BTW, Will, car just received a recent Tune Up. Problem feels Fuel related. When problem is present, when you step on gas, there is no response(complete flat spot). Hope I'm describing symptom clearly!

Mine was doing the same thing and I thought it had something to do with my transmission, but I think I fixed it by replacing my MAT sensor, which is located on the back of the air filter housing, but if its not working it will put out a code, but wont turn the SES light on
