'94 Bonneville SE

I just got her back from the shop. She was running like crap. Turns out it was one of the coil packs. My mechanic said she was running on 4 cylinders.

She is running fantastic right now. I even got a little burnout leaving the parking lot. (Been quite a while since i had that!)

The problem is, since I picked it up this morning, the A/C will only blow out of the top of the dash and in the footwell. There is nothing coming out of the vents, regardless of the setting I put it on.

Can anybody think of what could be causing such a thing? It was blowing fine when I took it in Tuesday...

If you look under the hood at the firewall.. you will see black box like (vacuum canister) on the firewall next to the brake booster/wiper motor. Plug the vacuum hose back into the bottom of it and all will be restored.

It'* amazing the little things that can get knocked loose on these things.

Honestly..the vacuum line probably needs to be replaced. However.. hooking it up will temporarily solve the problem.

Bill was dead on. The vacuum line was disconnected at the firewall.

The problem is however, that the reason it was disconnected is that the "nipple" that the vacuum line attaches to has broken off from the firewall. Once I disconnected the hose from the bottom of the vacuum pump, I could see the nipple inside the hose. It literally crumbled as I pulled it out of the hose.

So now there is a hole in the firewall where the nipple used to be

I am completely at a loss. Has anybody experienced anything like this before?

Is that plastic shielding a replaceable part?

Is there any harm to driving it as is (with the A/C coming out of the defroster vents) ?

Should I at least plug the holes in the firewall and the bottom of the vac pump?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

You can get a replacement from the wrecker. That'* probably your best bet.
