Help with removing lower idler pulley on 96' SSEi
For reference, this is a continuance of another thread : http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=25178
I got the engine jacked up without a hitch, and I got the bolt going through the motor mount out. I then removed the two bolts going to the frame holding the center piece of the motor mount and removed the cylindrical-shaped center piece of the engine mount. The passenger side of the engine now looks like this : http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=131350 You can see the dead pulley, and you can see that it's just about an inch shy of clearing the engine side of the motor mount (which I cannot remove). My question is how to get that extra inch. The car is already on jackstands, and my jack (along with 2 2x2's) has the engine as high as it wants to go. Any suggestions? |
Well, I ceded this challenge. I'm having a dealership put in my new fuel lines tuesday anyways, so I figure they can change this for me while they're at it. For anybody else who might have the lower idler pulley break, take caution trying to change it yourself :D
