I'm totally out of answers on this one.
Time for General Motors to see it, I think we've covered most of the bases in regards to what you have described. Time to bite the bullet

That would be more common in belt situations. (ie stretching etc) but in a timing chain situation, its hard to believe he is getting nothing out of his car.
Tonyg, repeat for us, is the car turning over? cranking? starting then dying? if so how long is it on for?
Take it GM and let them hook it up to their computers and diagnostic equipment. Its at the point now where we are taking shots in the dark. :?

Yes, the car cranks, turns over...on a good day it may run for 3 secs then shuts off. My mechanic has enlisted the help of a GM car electronics specialist who will hopefully be able to diagnose something tomorrow. My mechanic believes he has eliminated everything mechanical from the equation. I'll keep you guys posted...keep throwing suggestions out to us...we will try anything!!!!

It time for the GM specialists t step in and have a good look... The car needs to be put on life support to see whats going on...
Question: When the engine is first cranked, am I right in thinking that it fires all its injectors once since it doesn't know (yet) exactly where the crankshaft is? Could our friend be getting his three seconds of running from that initial charge, which should be (but isn't) followed by actual controlled injections after that?
