Help!!!! Please!!!!
I think we screwed up. Put a 94 tranny and engine into a 93 SE. Don't have the vin from the 94, and the tranny won't shift properly. Service codes 36 and 56 come up. Any suggestions on calibrating or any other help would be greatly appreciated. The car will shift manually but not through in overdrive. Guess we didn't do our homework.

What gear ratio's are the 2 trannies?

That's the problem, We can find out ours, but everybody is telling us we need a vin# for the other one.

Howdy neighbor. McMinville? Ok, this MIGHT help, you got the tranny out of a 94, and put it into a 93SE. What model was the 94? SE, SLE, SSE, or SSEi?
|
Same model
The engine and tranny came from an SE also. We're having a tranny shop check to see if this is a good tranny first of all, and then from other postings by another memeber that describes my exact problem we are going to check the wiring, and solenoids. The 94 was wrecked supposedly in its first year with about 10,000 miles on it and sat in a shop for about 6 years. We had to go for it for the price. Just hope its not going to cost more in the long run. Bought the car for 700. Just cosmetic problems.
Oh by the way, love the look of yours and Hi neighbor. |
I have an Actron scantool if it becomes necessary for further diagnostics. You're not too far, and my last trip with it took me to Lincoln City ;)
Let me know, and keep us updated on what you find. With both transmissions coming from SE's with Series 1 motors, I'd guess both are LIKELY 3.06 ratios. |
Thanks
I'll let you know what happens. Thanks

Similar topic. You really need the electrical diagrams from both trannys. I bet you have exactly the same problem.
