Help out colin and his end links
So went to replace Colin's sway bar end link. The bolt he bought was too short. He has the new energy suspension bushing but I think his bolts are two short. or is it okay if both sides are the same length.

all I have to say is if it is original equipment fasteners must be put back in same location? What is vehicle year and make

Yeah, I did a search end came up with an old post saying ⅜ diameter, 3½ inches long. Seems like that was about half the size I needed.
EDIT: As I was browsing that thread in Lowe's, I didn't notice that it was for the rear bolt. Whoops. Guess I'm a step ahead on converting the rear suspension, but a step behind on the front. |
I would think both sides should be the same size.
Are you replacing entire stabilizer shaft, link bolts, insulator bushings. In any event 4 bushing bolts 2 rt 2 lt should be the same size, if you are replacing them you should replace application specific parts. I can't see rt and lt link bolts being different. |
I'm replacing the end bar bushings, as described in Dan's how-to: bushings and washers in the Energy Suspension 9.8105R kit; nuts and bolts sold separately.

Nice instructions. So r you all good now?

Not yet. I still don't have the bolt length for the fronts. Seems to be about five or six inches, guessing randomly.
|
I do't know? Did they not come as an application specific kit? The only thing I can suggest is calling your local GM parts department and ask for bolt spec. I'm sure they will be able to tell you.

the bolt isn't really important, it's important to have that spacer I was showing you. Even if it's not that plastic pos it's just the height that matter. Can see an metal one in Dan's post. then all you need is a bolt long enough to fit in it all.
