Default Intake Manifold replacement or additive?

http://www.zzperformance.com/zzp/pro...ake_insert.htm

Is this a replacement for the intake manifold or something else entirely?

Has anyone made a metal replacement for it yet other than the stupid plastic stock one?

Thanks!

I believe Ty from Domestic Performance (speedyguy on BC here) was working on one, but it is a very expensive mod if I remember correctly.

I think its still cheaper then having to replace then whole engine

Looks more like a gasket. I'd say that is NOT a replacement for the upper intake plenum.

Well the best I can see it'* an intermediate gasket that goes between the Upper & Lower Intakes. I think it'* their way of trying to rectify the "Coolant Comsumption TSB" http://www.bonnevilleattitude.com/fo...d92b72504e1c5a
I can't see by looking at this image though, how you will get a HP increase as claimed or if any really? :?

I believe that'* an attempt to increase flow, too. ZZP toyed around with a metal upper intake, and decided not to go with it I think.

ADTR succesfully made one, and it'* currently running on Hector'* car. He probably won't be marketing it. Too costly.

That thing on ZZP'* site won't do anything for the failure around the EGR port at all.

With the buying power of the Bonneville, Regal, and GP club can't someone talk Edelbrock into makeing a replacement. The market is there i would sure buy a aluminum replacement if Edelbrock madeone.

Any manufacturer will build one if you pre-buy a certain number of them first! The problem lies with what to do with the rest of them until you can get them sold? :? Not to mention the initial investment, which is more than most are willing to spend on just an idea!
