Default 94+ (2.5" Exhaust w/resonator) --- Anyone else have pro

Have the stock resonator and the pipe actually fell off at the rear end of the resonator yesterday.

It was really messed up because I was driving in town when all a sudden (raawrr rawwrr rawwr) --- my car was straight piped it sounded like and there was a dragging sound of the rest of the exhaust hanging on the road.

Not sure if this is my car only or other cars have problems since it does not look like the exhaust is supported enough near the middle where the resonator is.

U must be missing a hanger or something then. Because my car has a hanger right before the resonator I think.

Yeah I think I can blame a shop actually for it..user error or something. But when I bought the car the hanger was undone as well on one side so probably a combination of both.

Oh well fixed now.

AGAIN...I think I CAN BLAME THE EXHAUST shop (supreme muffler....quite ghetto) since they obviously messed up the pipe when they put the high flow cat on. I asked why the exhaust was a bit louder than stock and they said it was obviously the cat since they had never SEEN high flow cats like that and tried to convince me that was the problem. So took it across the street to Midas (I know I know but hopefully they are smart enough to notice an exhaust leak) and they said IT SOUNDED NORMAL. Still not satisfied I took it to a local indepenent shop that had it on the lift and was looking for leaks but they convinced me THE RESONATOR WAS MAKING IT SOUND LIKE THAT.... yeah....I guess I sort of accepted that it did get louder with the cat..EVEN AFTER WILLWREN said it was probably a leak .

Took it to Supreme muffler they fixed it for $10.. previously they charged 70 for a 10 minute cat install....not because I wanted to go back but the tail pipe broke 2 BLOCKS FROM THERE and they had no cars.....at all...anywhere.

but now the car is VERY VERY quite. It was not that loud before but it obviously had a pinhole leak.

Hey, you coming to WCBF '05? Not far for you.

On your exhaust, my car had no stock resonator (that started in 94), but I had one added. No hanger there, but the 3" resonator had the flanges custom cut so my piping was inserted inside it and then welded. Firm as hell.

On the other hand, a pinhole can make quite a difference. driverjohn2005 had one fixed at tech day for WCBF04 last year. Leak was at the welds for his cat. A loose heatshield on a cat can make quite a racket, too.
