My car is comiting suicide!!
Well where to begin. I was driving normally turning onto the highway and right at the first second gear shift the engine flaired very BAD. It then hits third and stays there. It will not leave third, first, second, and OD are gone. The whole way home it was bucking and misfiring like crazy. When I put it in park the engine would race at about 2500 rpm. It set so many codes, well over 20. The service engine light is on constantly. Now here is the funny thing after 15 minutes of not driving it, it went back to normal for about a mile, then the same thing happend. Could this just be a computer problem or what? Its quite scary, kinda like its on its last legs or in self destruct mode. :(

This is a strange one, I suspect the transmission but cant explain the high revs in park? Do you know what codes were thrown? I would take it in for a complete diagnosis.

All guages are working properly. There was nasty corrosion on my battery terminals when I disconected them. So I did reset the codes and that was before I drove it a mile to see if it would act up again, and it did worse than ever. It drove perfect for 2 blocks and then bam, back to third gear only, dropping and racing rpms at idle, racing especially in park, and service engine light. I think its time to take it to the dreaded repair shop. :?

Do you think you were in "Limp mode" which is the tranny'* limp home mode.
If you can get it up there, i recommend 98th street auto. Go up 35w to 98th street in bloomington, and head west. Right after the road goes to a huge y, you'll see them on the right. Tell em i sent ya, they know me, my mom does their books for them 100% honest, and will find the best and cheapest way for ya.

Darn. I just brought it to downtown Lakeville, Lakeville Tire and Auto i believe. Threw the keys in the slot, too late to turn back.
