timing or foul out at 3000+ RPMs?
wassup fellas? Long time no talk to, i had to take the winter off from this site b/c i was spending too much money on all your cool ideas! (my wife made me )
got an issue that just started happening yesterday and wanted your opinion. When i am going 60 in overdrive, and step on gas lightly it downshifts to 3rd no problem, but if i really step on it start bogging down. Almost like its missing but i get no bucking and no idiot light (codes) gets thrown. Does thing sound like a bad spark plug/connection or does it sound like a fuel injector/filter issue? I would think if it was missing, i would get a code wouldnt I? not sure about a fuel issue tho, i dont know what codes would get tripped.
Thanks for any suggestions you have.

sure will man. Another thought i had at lunch today was bad gas. its not so bad like a misfire, just sounds like it bogs down as if its getting too much air with the SC slammin into high gear and not enough firepower. its only when i reallly nail it, half way down is fine.

If your temps aren't high, and boost is still normal, it'* probably not the cat. Odds are against fuel problems, too.
90% of the time, your symptoms are ignition related. Ohm out your wires, look for arcs in the dark, and consider replacing plugs/wires. Could also be a coil pack. Inspect your plugs for uneven fouling between them.

Everything else runs as expected. temps 185 , boost 10+, oil pressure 20-60, the cat is new hi-flow so i wouldnt think it would be the cat either.
i hope its not a bad coil pack or wires since they are both new and performance parts also. :(
as soon i can get a hold of ty the speedyguy, im gonna gets some densos and replace the NGKs. I've been waiting for a reason to do it. in the mean time, do you think putting some dry gas in would be prudent?
Good to hear from ya again Bill!

Go ahead and put the fuel-dry in, but run that tank as low as possible, too. I still suspect ignition, but you can rule bad fuel out in the meantime.

yah, she let me out but she keeps stepping on the leash!
the TR55s are whats in there now since last summer. along wit MSD coil packs and taylor spiros.
i filled up at lunch today, it was about an 1/8 full before that. I didnt use the gnereic gas station next to my house this time, i used the mobil premium so its full now. i thought it might be getting a little better on the way home but i was prolly just making myself believe it was better.
im hoping its just bad gas. that would be too easy tho! we'll find ot tomorrow. thanks for the suggestions, i'll let ya know what happened.
Where is Ty the Speedyguy :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Sounds like it could also be a locking torque converter clutch which may not be disengaging(?). GM'* official term for this is a "chuggle" (honest, not making it up). Disconnect the electronic lead for the TCC and see if the problem occurs (?).
