Default Check engine light, and slight miss

Ok here'* how it goes.. i get in my car drive to my friends, and i notice a touch of a miss. I stay there for a while get back in the car.. my Check engine light is on, and the car stumbles a little bit. It'* not the same type of miss as i had with my ignition problem... it'* a little different. Fluids are good. it'* a little more like it doesn't want to go, and not as bad as ignition miss. i started my car back up after i got home, and the check engin light didn't come on. I didn't go for a ride right then cause it'* about 3:30 in the morn. Any ideas?

Sounds like the same thing as mine, cheap gas and bad/old plug wires. Mine will occasionally throw a light, then it goes away later. Only happens, though, when I gun it really hard around a corner with the cheap gas in it.

My new, cool, shop manuals tell me the only thing I haven't fixed yet is the culprit, plug wires.

Grab the code if you can, though, to double check.

Could possibly be an EGR problem as well, but there'* no way to start fixing it until you pull codes.

I'm betting ignition: 75% odds
EGR: 20% odds
Injector: 5% odds.

I have yet to see a single injector fail on this forum (that I recall).
I've seen countless ignition problems blamed on fuel systems.

Get it scanned. Or start checking for spark at all cylinders.

Your problem could be caused by the following.
1. coil pack
2. wires or plugs
3. egr or o2 sensors
4. fuel injector
5. dirty mass air flo sensor element

If you do not have a scanner Try the plugs and wires first. Then try cleaning your maf sensor elements. (To clean the maf sensor just remove the 3 small screws unplug and pull straight up. IMPORTANt only use a cotton cue tip dry no solvents or cleaners. use light pressure to wipe of the small metal filaments on the sensor. The side the air hits rushing in MAY be dirtc causing a miss and check engine light. If this does not solve it you want to definately have a diagnosis done to pinpoint the problem because all the other items are expensive to replace. Good Luck

One more thought is that you should trace your wiring and make sure all connections are secure. In particular check your map sensor that is the one behind the back row of your fuel injectors.
