Heat shield

Hi all,

I just finished replacing the LIM & a complete new UIM. Installed the throttle body and low and behold and extra part.

It's a heat shield that's about 8"X4" and it' held in place by 2 mounting holes that have an arc cut out between them.

Any idea where it goes?

Thanks!

G

This one? You can barely tell, but its black and sits behind the EGR...

Thanks Mike, but I don't think that's it. I don't recall mine having one for the EGR

My son got back and took some photos. maybe this can shed some light...

Is that like an exhaust shield or something? I'm not all that familiar with the Series 1 engines.

Yes, that looks like a heat shield that protects the rack, where the exhaust pipe goes over it....

ggenovez 06-30-2014 11:25 AM

Thanks guys. it's a heat shield that fits between the exhaust and the throttle cable. Got it together now. Thanks again!
