Default DOOR SEALS

I FOUND WATER LEAKING INTO MY CAR AROUND THE WEATHER SEAL AROUND THE DOORS . WHEN I WENT TO REPOSITION IT I REALIZED IT HAD SHUNK IN LENGTH. HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED? DOES IT REQUIRE NEW SEALS? IF SO WHERE CAN THEY BE PURCHASED? HOW MUCH DO THEY COST? I COULD NOT FIND THEM ON GMDIRECT.COM?

Send a PM to SSEi95. He just went through replacing all of his. If he doesn't have the info any more, post back here with the specific seal on the specific door (a picture would help) and we'll get you the numbers and prices.

As an interim measure (or if the price of the new seals is too much) you can pull the seal apart at the seam at the middle bottom, and re-position it around the door. This will result in an opening for noise and dust, but will help greatly with the water problem.

Also take a look at the condition of the drip molding over the doors. I stopped water leakage on my '92 by purchasing an unbroken set of moldings from a junkyard for $35, and installing them with 3M strip caulk. This keeps the water away from the door seals in the first place.

this is my easy fix. black silicon molded with wax paper. it doesnt look the greatest, but its a lot cheaper than a new seal. and it works!

I noticed after a recent rain storm that I also have this exact problem, obviously it'* somewhat common. Has anybody inquired at the dealer for new weatherstripping or considerred getting one from a wrecker to use to splice in a piece?

Cheers,
