Headlight switch again?

A while back I had the infamous headlight switch issue on my 95 Bonne SE. Replaced it with a new 96 unit. All was good until recently. Drove up to the parts store and upon leaving all IP lights and radio (except the display) were out. Headlights and fogs worked fine, just couldn't see how fast I was going.

At home I noticed that when the key was out and I had the headlights on I got no chime unless I messed with the headlight knob a bit, and I have no parking lights if the knob is pulled out to the first setting. Never did get the IP lights back. I assume this is another bad switch? Figured I'd ask before I tear it out again. Hopefully the harness isn't fried beyond use this time.

When I replaced the original switch there was some evidence of melting, but nothing serious and all the pins were still tight as I instantly got all my functions back once I replaced it.

if the switch is internally bad not much you can do besides replace it, there are alot of lights in a bonnie, interior and park lights, that causes alot of heat and if the switch isnt good quality its not going to last. you can switch to leds, that will reduce the load and make the switch last longer as long as you dont have the dic light monitor and dont use load resistors. and if you replace the turn signals you have to use the solid state flasher

When my 95 switch failed, it failed right at the connector. The heat warped the plastic so much that it made the pins not make contact with the board.

You may have pins not making contact.
