Default is AC Delco the ONLY brand 02 sensor anygood ??

Auto shop has 02 sensor for my Bonnie 48.42. Online ACPartsDirect is 62.00. I have 170k on the car and will probaly keep it one more year. I have noticed that sometime when stopped and turning a corner it semms to have no power for a few seconds then takes off fine, 02 sensor ? Also my mileage seems to have dropped off slightly. Just curious as to other brands that are ok to use,

I wouldn't look at the O2 sensor for your problem. Or at least not as the main culprit.

When was the last time you changed plugs, wires, pcv, and fuel filter?

Do you regularly use a fuel system cleaner and or a throttle body cleaning?

How about oil change and air filter?

Default well...

plugs, filters etc chgd less that 300 miles ago. Everyone here says chg the 02 sensor even though not throwing a check engine lite. The car has 170k and I have never chgd it and figured it was unnessasary if no light ????

Unnecessary is a loose term. If you ask most mechanics and dealers they would tell you...

No problems, don't fix what'* not broken. However when you pull an O2 and see any buildup of white/black/whatever on it and think, like anything it'* old and is probably not working as well as a new one. You think w/current fuel prices and the age of it..maybe your car could be running a little better w/a new one.

On that hesistation or power loss you mention I think you might have another issue that unrelated to the O2.

I recommend starting off by changing the plugs, wires and fuel filter. Use AC Delco parts.

I would also clean the throttle body. My butterfly valve was sticking and was causing a similar behavior to what you described. After I cleaned it, no more issues.

In addition to the two posts above this one, change your O2. Most are tired at 60k or so.

Also consider replacing the strainer on your fuel pump.
