So, I have hinted upon this many times, but have never really discussed it much.

I am having brake issues, they squeak, REAL BAD. It has been to the brake shop twice in the last 6-7 months. First time they took things apart to inspect them because I noticed my right front wheel was REALLY hot and my left was cold. Smelled like it was burning. After laughing at me, they took the wheels and calipers off. Showed everything to me, said yeah this side got kinda warmer than it is supposed to...put it back together and sent me on my way.

About a month later, I noticed that when I took my foot off the brake at a stop light my car didn't roll forward like it normally does. Drove home (5 miles) and parked in the garage. I could smell the brakes, they were that hot. Both rims were hot on the outside edges to the point at which it burned my hand. Rotors looked really blue. Took it in, they took it apart again, and brought me back. Said yeah, looks like both sides got warmer than they were supposed to. I complained because this was the second time I was in for a similar thing and that they should help me out cuz they did $600-700 in brake work not 6 months before. Also commented on how the ABS would randomly activate at times.

After complaining they changed the master cylinder for me.

That helped the ABS problem, sorta. It used to happen like once a day, now it has only happened once ever.

Ever since my brakes have squeaked bad. But only like 80% of the time. I think that my fronts are hanging sometimes, causing the pads to glaze over and then squeak next time I stop. That is my guess.

I really don't want to go back to the shop, but I am looking for where I should start.

I recently had an issue with my rotors warping. Calipers had already been replaced. Turned out to be the front hoses were restricted caused the calipers to be slow to release. If you have never replaced the calipers, I'd check there first. The hoses are cheap too, I think mine were about $15.00 each. A slowly releasing or frozen caliper will cause the rotors to heat up quite a bit, could also cause your noise. Of course, I am not sure what you had done for you $600 - $700 in repairs.

I guess I made an error. I thought they did the fexible brake lines...I guess I will have to search through my records some more.

I so wish I could do this stuff myself. I never noticed, but they charged me $96 a piece for rotors. Just in parts. My Chilton'* is on the way Now I just need to buy some confidence on eBay

Did some more digging, I don't see anywhere where they changed brake lines...

Please..before you spend tons more money with them.. Are you reasonably local to a member that can help out?

I'm definately not looking at taking my car back to the shop. Right now, it is more of an annoyance than anything. At this point in time I am more looking for a list of what COULD be wrong. Maybe some things I could check or test?

It seems that your calipers are not releasing all the way or not as quickly as they should. Like said it might be the hoses are coming apart inside, could be the caliper slide pins they say were blasted for cleaning. It'* tough w/o being there and being able to see and feel the braking issue.

Are the brakes still overheating, or just squealing now? If no longer over heating...did they replace those parts to take care of the overheating problem, or were some of the parts that got real hot still on the car?

I'm in agreement on hoses, can't hurt. As far as the pads go, I think you can give them a sanding to take off the glazed surface.
