Trouble with starting/running '95 supercharged 3800
I just joined and am not sure if I even qualify... maybe I could be an 'honorary member'. You see, I don't really own a Bonneville... but I own a '36 Chevy Standard Coupe. The donor car for the engine (Supercharged) and a lot of other stuff was a '95 Bonneville. Its my best guess that I might have the only '36 Chevy with that configuration around. Anyway, I am have trouble getting the engine to start/run properly, and since this is the first time I have every worked on anything that didn't have a carburator/distributor...
Last year I fired it up for the first time (with all the wires dangling) and it ran OK. Then worked on other stuff for a few months. I just cleaned up all the temporary wiring, got the computer permanenty installed and tried to fire it up again. Would not start. Detetmined it to be a fuel problem. When I squirt fuel down its throat it starts and run OK.
'fuel control (out)' continuity from the ICM to the PCM Checks OK. Tried starting it with the cam connector disconnected (per manual) (nothing).
The fuel pump runs a coupla seconds like its supposed to when the key is turned to 'run' but with a test light one one injector I cant see the initial priming shot.
Have not yet hooked up the serial data port nor have I invested in an analyser.
I can only imagine the $$$ if I bail and take it to a shop. Can anyone help ?

Wow, your car sounds cool. Is your car front wheel drive or did you convert to rear wheel drive? Anyway, it sounds like you have access to a shop manual. All I can recommend is go through Chart A-3 "Engine cranks but will not run". This will cover everything you need to check. If you don't have access to a shop manual, let us know and I or someone else can walk you through it.

I was paging through and saw this, my '94 SSEi started running like crap and now "cranks/nostart or sputters/dies" So I could use that chart. It'* also one of the OBD2 hook-up but OBD1 ECM'* so I can't get a code. I take to a place to scan it I'll just have them fix it. Or other words plan B
