Default few things

My compass now reads N.E or just East..it doesnt work, then sometimes the compass part dissapears and it just reads Calibrate..
CAN I use the compass module out of my 93? I relocated it out of the trunk last year, and its a good thing cause the trunk no longer opens..
Also..my Fuel gage is kinda in love with hovering around 3/4..unless its getting 45 in town..its not at that levell..i notice now and then when it is working it will slowly drift up to 3/4 and sit....right now its been there for three days...
My DIC also flashes and flickers alot..but..my 93 did that..easy fix.

Compass issues: Did you just change your speakers or have the new speakers in your trunk next to the magnetic compass module?

Fuel gauge: Sorry to say, it sounds like the fuel sender is going bad. Although there are some years that had issues and needed a resistor put in line to fix them. (I forget what years) Randman may have his old 97 one.

Flickering.. Please check under the front carpeting for any signs of previous wetness. The other two issues don't sound ground related at first..but could be.

so should I order a new sending unit? Or is there a resitor inline someweres that might be toast?
It works it way to half..then goes back toward full..even though it should be nearing 1/4 left..

I'e just been told by a GM parts guy that the level part of the sender unit is now available seperately. you don't have to replace the whole thing. you get the level arm and the attached sensor, that screws on to the sender assembly.
