Gas-Mileage

Lately i've been saving up for new rims..and i've been tryin to think of little things i could do to get better gas-mileage. I heard if i turn off my traction control that it helps out a bit..and i also heard that the neons i have under my dash ( plugged into cigarette lighter) also decrease the Gasmileage. Anyone got any tips. My Supercharger is hungry all day long and it eats all my gas. :angry2:

I am thinking that the best thing you could do for gas milage is to switch cars with me. I have a '95 SE with only 52,000 miles on it, and I have been getting around 22 MPG with mixed city/highway and my foot on the floor a lot. I will be glad to drive up to you to make the switch. Also, this car has lived in florida for it's whole life, so no problems with salt or the such. Needless to say, this would be a swap of pinks. So, what do you say?

He's probably thinking :wtf: and :booty:
But it was worth a try Burgundy

Your traction control may actually help your mileage. But with it off or on, you'll never see the difference. The only way your neons will make a diff is if you were running enough of them to require a MUCH larger alternator, and the alt would rob power.

Neither of these are a contributor. You're back to the basics. Clean the TB, O2, basic tuneup including plugs/wires, check your tire pressure, etc. Understand your weather is hurting you. No getting around that.

Those neon tubes won't do anything to your cars performance. You could have TEN of them all wired to the same power source with out doing any harm. The amount of power they use is almost nil(about a miliamp).

I know how you feel about the supercharger, but I think I could deal with it (it would be hard though, I mean I wouldn't be able to see the rice I kill anymore). So would the 26 of this month be good for you??? If not, I am free the whole week, I'm sure I could catch you sometime during the week... and to think, I was afraid that you wouldn't like the idea, silly me...
