Default This is interesting.......

Installed the in-question chip from Nytro67 that'* sold to Harofreak00 in my car yesterday. Haven't noticed anything different yet, also never had enough road to open up past my stock chips limiter (128 MPH). Now I get a check engine light this morning before leaving Breakfast with the b'fest boys, pull out my scanner and pull the code:

P162 Anti-Theft Fuel Enable Circut - Wrong Frequency Detected During Crank.

Talked to BillBost37 who almost always has an 95 FSM hadny. Nowhere in the FSM books says ANYTHING about that code. Also looked in the chilton'* after they gave up, nothing in my chiltons even remotly close to that code. What gives?

Tried pulling power from the ECM for 1/2 hour and the code comes back, checked my #4 Maxi-Fuse, good, check the #8 relay......Good also.....Check my 10 amp in 1A.....Good.....

I have no clue where this code is coming from. As far as I'm concerned....I think that this chip was made to run in a PCM box with a different serial number? Harofreak00 has never seen the code before when he was running it in his car, and I've had enough problems with the VATS system to last me a while. Any good guess'?

Never had this code before this chip was installed. There'* about 450-500 miles on the chip now also since installation yesterday after noon. I had no scan tool handy at the time the SES light was on as it was with 1993 SLE (pat) at the race track.

That code or any variation of it is not in the 95 FSM. Randy stopped over and he looked for it as well. Maybe 1Fatcat or Willwren have some ideas.

Eproms and PCM'* can be funny for Bonnevilles. Even GM Tuners uses L27 variations for their 95 L36 burns.

Don't know what to tell you, but I'd like to see you clear the code by any means possible, and see if it comes back with the chip in your car, if it does, repeat the process with your stock Eprom and never install that chip again.

Looked in an old schoool MOTOR book...Paper version of the ALLDATA no at Mechanic-Man-Dan'* place today after work......Throwing the wrong code number, but a valid code in the PCM......Kinda wierd....

Either way, the chip is ****.....and I'm tearing it out tonight while I'm in there replacing my HVAC programmer......I've cleared the code by pulling the power to the PCM....Tested the Circut and it came back, cleared it with my scan tool and a Snap-On Tech II and it'* still coming back.

This thing is worthless, andrew get your money back.

I would be interested in sending it into GM tuner'* or something like that to have it evaluated compared to a stock platform. Wonder if that'* an option?

Don't PROM'* have to be matched to the PCM itself with that 4 digit/letter code? Or atleast the same one used... (depending on year of course)
