I have a intermittent problem with the stereo disply. Sometimes it illuminates and sometimes it doesn't. Can someone help me out here.

What year and trim level do you have?

Is the digital display screen intermittent or are all of the backlit buttons also intermittent?

I guess it all of the lights. Any clues?

Ok, now put that in your sig. Even the stereos differed from year to year! It makes it alot easier to help when we know what you drive. Your display AND the button backlighting is out?

My Display on my 99 SSEi with the Bose Option ( :P ) is screwing up. Sometimes it just startes showing all sorths of stuff. It goes in next wed under warranty, that is on the list for them to fix. Good for me United Radio is 4 miles down the road, so if it is bad (which it is) I get a new one that day.

I have heard of the 'Pontiac' radios with the red SCD screen having problems.

Are the rest of the lamps on your dashboard also intermittent, like the climate control and instrument panel?

No they all work. Its just the stereo.
