I am new here with a few questions on an engine swap I am close to completing. The donor engine is from a 92 sse and the patient is a 95 se. My biggest challenge so far has been the difference in length with the power steering hoses which i switched out. I think I only have two major issues of what I think is a oil pressure plug on the back passenger side of the block where there is no connection on the 95 harness. Then there is a pin difference on a connection in the throttle body. If anyone has done this or can provide any links to help, it would be greatly appreciated. i will also do a search for info. Thanks

Are you sure you wanna do this?? is a step backwards in terms od performance. but the series 1 may be more reliable...
I know that the 95 has one more knock sensor but they end up as one wire when they enter the computer, The 95 has a newer 4t60-e than your 92, you lucked out that the 95 series 2 dosen't have a map sensor, The rear exhaust manifold might bolt up to the DP since my 95 rear mani has a sleeve that enters the DP ans this is similar to what i've seen on seires 1'*, umm, the passanger side motor mount from your 92 should bolt up to your 95 spot b/c they are pretty much in the same place, Umm your computer is a freaky obd1/2 hybrid but still has a memcal. Darth Fiero could probably help you out with programing. He actually has an L27 specific tuning program.

so let me get this stright. 95 n/a series 2 and your swaping that out with a 92 series 1 supercharged. Not to get on your case but why didn't you put in a series 2 supercharged

Its an L36 swap into an L27 Bonneville SSE...I didnt notice any supercharger in there..or did I miss it?

No, its sounds like is an L36 to L27 swap, meaning hes taking OUT the L36 and putting in an L27...the only thing I can think of is his motor is junk...otherwise it makes no sense.

Can you not find a L36 for cheep? B/C you can't go anywere with out tripping over one of them for less then $500. And on the Performance side a L36 has a huge market compared to a L27. Just my .02

Wow. So many responses so soon. Thanks all. To give you a quick rundown. The 95 engine waslocked up by my father in law. He gave me the car. The donor car was my little brothers who went off to college in Atlanta where you cant have a car freshman year so I didnt have to pay for another engine. Believe me if i had the money a supercharger would be going in it. So I have the 92 SSE engine as a donor and the 95 SE as the patient/receiver. The 92 is in and bolted up with new gaskets,stat, plugs and wires. I just wanted to get an idea of any obstacles I might encounter once i try to fire it up. Will I need to switch out the computers? Once again thanks for you quick feedback.

Computers are an absolute must, but you don't want the 92 L27. You really don't. 92 was an EGR-less year, and only produced 170 hp.

The knock sensor is an easy kill, I worry about that. I had that same problem goin from a v6 to an 8 in my truck. I don't think you would have to change out the ecms.....just reprogram the one you got, for the TB plug....go to a salvage yard or auto parts store and get the plug with a lead and splice it in. So it may sound like a big head ache but probably won't be too bad.
