Yeah, it would be easier, however that method doesn't work for me. So, if that method doesn't work for him either [or anyone else for that matter] they also have an alternative method. Not to mention if your car doesn't run and you need to relieve fuel pressure ;).

Aye, It's good to have both options common knowledge. I pull the fuse personally, quicker and easier.

why doeesnt it work?? ok when you pull the fuse for the fuel pump its not pumping any fuel to the fuel rail ? right ok there for when you turn the car over the injectors inject the remaining fuel that is in the lines in to the cylinders mind you there isnt enough fuel PSI to start the car

OSG so your telling me that when you fuel pump craps out your car will still run??

I don't need to pull a fuse....my FPR is shot to hell and back....lol

Gameover: When I remove the fuel pump fuse, the car will run forever. So.. yes, if my fuel pump fails my car will still run, I guess. I don't know.. I pulled the fuel pump fuse, whether the car is on or off, it doesn't die within 5 minutes [I quit waiting after that]. I do not know why it does that, but I am not too concerned.

sounds like you have some kind of wiring problem

opensourceguy 12-12-2004 08:14 PM

Doesn't suprise me. I'm not too worried about it. Fuel system works fine otherwise.
