Default Stock plug wire routing?

On my 96 Regal the back plug wires are routed 6 – 2 – 4 over the plastic intake to the rear of the motor. At the back of the motor # 6 wire crosses over the top of the other two wires.
My question is why did GM run the wires 6 – 2 – 4 instead of 2 – 4 – 6 over the plastic intake? Is there some reason to keep #6 wire away from #4?
Are L36 Bonneville plug wires run the same way?
