Ok guys, I thought I had a bad water pump or alternator but its not either from what I can tell. Its a bad Compressor pulley or bearings. I turn it by hand and there is a grinding noise. Any easy fix or bypass? My car has been without AC (never recharged) for years, if I take this off what functions will I loose?

You can buy a belt that is just the right size to bypass the compressor. You may have to measure the distance to determine which belt or an aftermarket source may already list one for your car. This will allow all the other driven accessories to work normally and will just bypass the bad compressor.

Someone told me that if I do that my water pump will go prematurely?

If you are worried about that you can just delete it and use the same belt. (Don't know if it is true).

Thanks CaptainMiler, thats exactly what I did. I went to try and remove the old pulley with no luck, its stuck on the compressor. So I order a AC delete bracket with pulley from Autozone for 35 bucks, came out to be cheaper. Now how do I vent the system (I was told the old stuff leaked out, but I have to be sure)

Odds are this will not fit a 1992 compressor.
I'd get measurements on the bolt holes from ZZP and then measure your own before you spend $69.99 + shipping.

No no no............ I went to autozone and order the same type of thing, not that exact brand. They said it fits 92 thru 95 bonnies! But what about venting the sytem before I remove the compressor? Like I said abouve I think its empty but.............

If you aren't sure that the system is empty, I'd recommend that you take it in to be sure. I also would have done what BIll Buttermore suggested (and did years ago with an '89) and just gotten a shorter belt.

My neighbor ran his L27 Buick LeSabre with a short belt bypassing the AC compressor for two years with no troubles. When re-routed to bypass the AC compressor, some of the contact area for the belt on the water pump pulley is lost, but as long as the pump turns without slipping, there should be no troubles. If the belt slips on the WP pulley, you should hear a squeal.

The AC delete pulley is a good fix, though. And for $35, that'* not a whole lot more than a good belt anyway. Glad you got it fixed.

Re venting: Unscrew a cap on an AC line and depress the schrader valve for an instant - just long enough to see if there is residual refrigerant in the system. If it hisses strongly, take it to an AC shop and ask them if they will pump out the R-12 for the value of the refrigerant. Most shops will do this for you.
