First year of series 2 supercharged engine???
Hello All! I am trying to find out what was the first year that GM put the series 2 supercharged engine in the Bonneville. Also did GM put the HD auto trans behind ALL of the series 2 supercharged engine, regardless of the platform? I am contimplating buying a used Bonneville, if I can figure out all of this! I am also trying to figure out which year model SSEI had the BIG fog lights positioned real close together. That has got to be the most evil looking frontend I have ever seen! If anyone can help put me in the right direction, I'd sure appreciate it! Thanks!

The Series II 3800 came out in 95. The 4T65-E HD was the standard trans for all the SC 3800 Series II'*. The 4T65-E HD trans does come with different final drive ratios depending on whether it was a SSE or SSEi & what options were selected (IE: performance pkg; touring pkg). The 92 & up SSE & SSEi have the fog lights inside of the headlamps & the SE have the fog lights on the outside of the headlamps.

I guess it depends whether you live in Canada or the USA! Here in Canada the late 95'* had a series II 3800 SC engines. The fog lights are the first main difference on telling whether it'* a SE or SSE/SSEi! The wide apart lights are on SE'* only! This started in 92 when GM changed the body design!
