its a temporay fix if this will last me to the spring i'll jerk the motor out and rebuild it

but this was what was knocking

Now its time to save up money for a short block or try getting a series II.

i believe i'm just going to have the crank polished and just use the rest of my rod bearings and just buy another rod bearing when i rebuiild it. i'll just do the bottom end

new rod and main bearings timing set and oil pump kit . then drive it till i get tried of it or i wreck it or it screws up again theni'll do another cheap fix and get rid of it.

building this motor is going to cut into my motor building project for my truck 1965 chevy c10 i'm resotering i'm real bumed bout that

Not trying to ruin your day, I hope it works out for ya. But chances might be a little slim that your rod journals will still be within tolerance spec when you check it. You might keep in the back of your mind that there will be a chance you'll need oversized bearings if you intend on rebuilding the bottom end. Good Luck, and way to stay after it.

Nice Truck! I had a 64 for a couple of weeks. Damn garage mechanic left some bolt out of the engine, so by the time I got about 5 miles down the road, no more oil. Just a loud BANG as the engine blew. Talked to a lawyer who was a customer of mine, and nothing I could do as he isn't a business.

That's f'ed up!! Stuff like that pisses me off. Did you get ANYTHING for it? :?

That would definently piss me off. I wouldve went over to his car & told him Your just borrowing the bolt that he forgot to put in your truck.

I was so poor, and pissed off, that I junked for like $20 after trying to sell it. Figured some collector would want it as I had extra body parts and stuff.

I wanted to go back, but a. No ride and b. No desire for a police record....

I wouldve given it a shot in the classifieds. I wouldve said Ebay but didnt know how long ago this was exactly.
