windshield washer fluid pump motors leak
Have any of you had problems with leaks in the windshield washer pump motors attached to the washer fluid reservoir?
You'd think parts like those would last for the life of the car, but the one near the fender side of the reservoir of my '93 ssei leaked a year or 2 ago, and yesterday the other one began leaking. In both cases, the source of the leak was in the motor housing itself, NOT in the rubber seal where the tube inserts into the tank, as one would suspect.
The pumps on my '92 sse */c haven't had these problems.
Maybe it was only a problem on '93 models that got a bad batch of pump motors, kinda like how it seems only the '93 models with power leather seats got the defective driver side seat bolsters that eventually poke holes in the seat cover on the side near the door?

I haven't had nor heard of either of these problems (leaks and bolsters) in my 93 or any other.
Makes me wonder if your washer fluid may be corrosive somehow? What do you use?

Generic windex, sometimes diluted with tap water. I don't remember where I read it, but I do remember reading about someone else who had a problem with one or more of the windshield washer pumps.
I've also read (on this board) about other owners who have holes in the leather side bolster on the driver'* side seat. Cracking is normal, possibly followed by rips/tears as the wear continues, but I'm talking about holes poked through the leather from the inside.
There were already holes in the side of the driver'* side seat cover on my '93 ssei when I bought it, and the cause was something sharp - something white nylon/plastic behind the leather, and the 2 materials had rubbed together over the years. I inserted some padding between the sharp plastic and the leather to prevent further damage, but I haven't yet found a replacement seat cover. I got an estimate from an upholstery shop once, but they wanted $120 or so just to replace the damaged section with vinyl so I didn't approve that work.

I just replaced the windshield washer pump on my 91.
The thing was in really bad shape, all rusted and stuff.
The good news is I got it at CarQuest for under $40 Cdn....
I'm not sure if they'd use the same washer pump, but I would assume that if they had one for my older car, they should have one for yours.
Easy repair too... takes all of 2 minutes...
