FE2 swap.
I'm going to be swapping in FE2 springs next weekend, the car shouldn't need an alignment afterwards should it?
What about after the sways/endlinks? (not doing it now, but i'll get to it) |
Well when Dame Makes it up next weekend, that's part of the festivities. Yes i know i'll need two kinda of spring compressors...

Since you'll be needing an alignment stop by Sears (or wherever you can get em for cheaper) and get some Monroe Air ride struts. Then you can get really pumped for the curves, and exhale for the road trips. From what the guy at Sears told me when I brought my 1999 in was that they have struts that are direct replacements of the CCR's, and won't disable the CCR. :? I asked if they had the electrical sensors in them and he claimed they did. Anyhow, if those weren't the same as the model for the non-F41 car's you can get them abit cheaper. They quoted $330 including install and alignement for the rear struts on my 1999. I'd bet if you are installing them yourself you'd be able to walk out with the rear struts for $125-150. Those struts with the FE2 springs would equate into one smooth, curve-cutting B-ville.
Too bad I won't be able to be there. If the Ashley wasn't with me I'd swing by there between the wedding (church is in Monomin Avenue S. in St. Paul) and the reception (which is at Bearpath Country Club in Eden Prairie). Who know's, there'll be a two hour break between the wedding and the reception, so we'll see how the traffic is. |
Ohhhh....you should take this opportunity to go Poly on the swaybar bushings, and swap in a set of SSEi sways to go with all that ;)

And i'm way ahead of you Will, Poly bushings will run about $50 from what I remember from here, so whenever i get $50 set aside i'll get to them, yes i know it'll help a lot too.. |
Do those bushings on the SSEi sways. You don't want to do it twice. Wrecker bars should run you about $25. I think Damemorder already did this?
|
I got the sways coming! Dame's bringing up the whole setup (minus steering rack) up, and I'm doing the sways when i get the money!

Good deal. These off the green car? And did he have to cut the endlink bolts, or are they intact (you may want the rear bolts, but not the front).
|
Green car yes, cut bolts I dunno.
|
Find out. The Energy suspension universal kit you need for the rear doesn't come with the bolts. If he doesn't have them, you need to get them from the dealer if yours are shot, or the wrong size.
