Does anybody have or know where I can get a diagram or picture on how the fan belt goes on the Series II L36?

We don't have a fan belt. Your fan is electric, but the pic above should help you. It should also be on a sticker under your hood somewhere, as well as a diagram in your owner'* manual.

Personally I think they alternated years to keep us guessing.

Nah, my 96 doesn't have stickers either. I bet the guys at the factory just randomly stuck them on.
