Whine
No, not a supercharger. I've noticed a whining coming from under the hood, I suspect from the alternator(hard to guage if thats it though with all the noise). The weather has been consistently below 0*F. I havent noticed any dimming lights or huge drops in voltage. =

Doesn't have to drop in voltage -it can go up too, which I think mine is doing now.
If the alternator doesn't go out or you haven't had it tested by I'll bring my simple voltage tester on Saturday.
Used to see around 14-14.5 on the guage, but lately has been closer to the next line up. Started last Wednesday and I've had the battery freeze up twice since then -Friday and this morning. Was almost late for work -had to take my sister'* GP and she took my mom'* Park Ultra to work since the GP was parked behind the Park and I had to leave -like yesterday. Luckily no one was parked in front of my car which was just off the side of the driveway. Had there been someone parked there they'd have been stuck until my brother took the battery out and brought it in, thawed it, and trickle charged it (Thanks Tom). Was all ready to go when I got back home.
Gonna go and grab the wheels and alternator off the parts car tomorrow.

Yeah it may be your PS pump. When mine did that it was actually the noise of metal being shaved away from behind the pulley and that caused a catastrophic failure and ended up tearing my belt in two. Got it replaced but am having other problems.

I listened for it on the way to work and I didnt hear it. Oh, and got louder when there was throttle applied.
Also if it'* the PS wouldnt it make more noise when turning the wheel?
