adjustment of idle stop peg on throttle body?
Quite a while ago I noticed the adjustable idle stop peg on the throttle body on both of my bonnies. One peg is for the idle stop rest position, and the other peg is for the max throttle limit.
Yesterday I thought I might try to adjust the peg for the idle stop in hopes that maybe it might fix the rough idle on my '92 SSE */c. My '93 SSEi idles smoothly at around 700 RPMs, but my '92 SSE */c idles rough at around 750 RPMs (steady), so I had hoped that turning down the idle stop peg would drop the idle speed a little and maybe smooth out the idle. The peg height on my '93 is a little lower than the height on my '92, so it seemed logical that this would cause the slightly different idle speed between both cars. The peg height adjustment made no apparent difference to anything except the TPS voltage, so I adjusted it back to where it was set before.
These adjustable pegs don't appear to be documented anywhere in the Pontiac service manuals or the Chilton'* manual that I own.
Does anyone know how these 2 pegs are supposed to be adjusted?
