I had a problem with one of my ABS sensors which activated my ABS light and disabled the Traction Control system. Is your ABS working - exclusive of the light'* action? I'm sure my '94 is similar.

How do I know if my abs is working. I don't have a code other than the knock sensor

Same thing happens to me, my abs light is on right now and the traction button does not do anything. The TC is usually on but the "traction off" light will sometimes come on randomly, its weird.

My Traction Control button appears to be stuck and the light on the dash is on. I just got the car (1999 SSE) a week ago.
I don't know if someone spilled soda on it or just busted it...it appears depressed and is not level with the other "false" buttons. This is the only functioning button in the array. How does it come out and is there a way to jury rig it just to see if the button being broken is what is keeping the dash light on? It'* easy enough for me to pull one at a junkyard, but only if that is the fix.
If a mechanic were to put a code reader on it would that tell the problem? My last car (a Lincoln...sorry) had the traction control and ABS lights on and the code reader revealed that it was caused by a bad sensor in the hub assembly.
This is my second Bonneville and I love it and look forward to lots of fun driving it.
