Do you have an update for us. Hopefully it went for you.

I have a 96 SE and I noticed that my cover was falling apart in large chunks. I would be interested to know if anyone has successfully replaced the unit without taking the car apart.

What is the problem with leaving it as is? (broken with exposed insulation)

My car has 221,000 miles on it. I think that this is a common problem that most everyone with any kind of mileage will eventually experience.
