I'm gonna replace the LIM gasket and the UIM....

If I knew how semi-easy it was gonna be I would have asked if anyone had a ported LIM to sell me.

Oh well I guess I could live with it being "normal"

Got it torn down to the LIM gaskets just gotta clean it up and replace everything tomarrow.

Anyone know if I need to put some kind of sealant on the LIM gasket? It looks like the factory had put some in the corners.

Yeah, use some gasket sealer on the edge seals at the very least. I went overboard and did the gaskets themselves as well

No gasket maker on the metal gaskets, but DEFINITELY on the end seal/LIM gasket joints. Put on the metal gaskets, then put a blob on all 4 corners where the LIM gaskets meet the seals. THEN place the seals, add 4 more blobs in the same spot on top of each corner, and finally place the LIM itself. Use copper RTV (high temp orange color stuff)

When I got the LIM gasket set it came with 3 O-rings What are they for?

I found out what the O-rings in the UIM kit where for, but why is there O-rings in the LIM gasket kit?

Where did you get your gasket kit? What brand?

I'm a believer in blobs at the corners where the rubber end gasket meets the metal gasket only. Our end gaskets don't have leaking problems typically. Gasket maker on them would fill the channels made for holding back the oil and if the surface of the block wasn't clean to start with..this will help it leak quicker.

I beleive it is a fel-pro kit. I over paid for it($78 ) but I had to have it and didn't want to travel anymore.

I got it at a local place (I swear they do to the chevy dealer next to them and get the stuff from them.)

I can't wait till they get the Advance Auto finished... It'* only about 5miles away.

ok good...

They looked like the same size as the PCV one

Oh, in the Dorman UIM kit they had the fuel inj o-rings too but they were two diff I.D. sizes. The ones that were on my inj were the same size but bottoms were brown and the tops were black. Is it ok that I put the bigger I.D. one on the top? They seem to be working fine but I just want to know.

Injector o rings are the same size top and bottom on our injectors. (Both L36 and L67 S2). Changing color is not a problem.
