ok will a non */c pcm work on my ssei??? imm try to get a couple from some wrecked cars at the junk yard

it will probably start the car, but it is not intended and I dont suggest it

well the people at the junk yard said that there is no difference in the pcm'* o well looks like i will have to order one and wait

the PCM'* are the same....its the EPROM that is different between the Motors, and or trans.

and when you get a custom PCM for your year, the EPROM is the only thing that gets burned

oh got ya so what should i do go to discount and get a pcm from cardone or should i got to the dealership? i figure the dealership might have a couple in stock since they go out often

well just look at the timing a */c car gets 15 degrees max timing and a L36 goes up to 26 degrees so it wont work youre going to blow that engine .its only good as a core if you need one for custom PCM

1996 was the target date for OBD-II implementation per C.A.R.B. for all autos sold in California. Fed clean air act made it national in 1990 with the same target date. Only problem, the standard was still a work in progress.. GM took the entire time to phase OBD-II in...even then they didn't do the complete OBD-II implementation until a few years later. (Don't feel bad, my '94 V6 F-Body has a screwy PCM that was only used for 3 months of production.)
